The JAC have launched a campaign to identify two candidates to recommend for the post of Deputy Chancery Master. The closing date for applications is 1pm on the 13 February 2024.

Be part of the conversation! The PLA is launching a new committee to promote diversity, equity and inclusion. The PLA are inviting members, whatever their background or qualification, to apply to join the committee by Friday 13 October 2023.

The winner of the Alan Langleben Blog Competition 2023 was announced at this year's Joint PLA/PBA Summer Party in the Old Hall, Lincoln's Inn on 5 July.

The PLA has become a supporter of the Black Talent Charter. Established in 2020, the Charter aims to significantly increase the recruitment and representation of black professionals in the UK business community within ten years, particularly the legal and financial sectors where remuneration is typically highest and representation among the lowest.

The annual Alan Langleben Competition for 2023 is now open. The winning entry will be published in the Estates Gazette and receive £2,000 in prize money! Eligible entrants now includes trainees, apprentices and paralegals who are involved in property litigation. Closing day end of May.

Chair of the PLA Dellah Gilbert takes the opportunity to update Conference attendees on "all things PLA" and outlined her objectives to act on the formalisation of the wellbeing initiative and diversity, equity and inclusion in the PLA's Articles and to concentrate on geographical inclusion.

On 27 February 2023 the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) will begin using a new platform for conducting remote hearings. From that date CVP will be replaced by the VH service.
