The PLA’s Law Reform Committee has put to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) a number of questions and points requiring clarification regarding the protection of business tenancies from forfeiture for non-payment of rent in the Coronavirus Act 2020

The PLA and the Property Bar Association (PBA) have jointly written to the Master of the Rolls in connection with the new Practice Direction 51Z, which was made on 26 March 2020 and has the effect of staying all possession proceedings brought under CPR Part 55.
