2016 Conference
I am delighted to once again be welcoming delegates to the PLA Annual Conference being held at Keble College, Oxford. This year’s conference boasts an exceptional list of brilliant speakers discussing key topics of interest for all Real Estate Litigators. I am certain that delegates will find the event both enjoyable and thoroughly informative.
Once delegates have settled into their rooms in college, the conference will begin in earnest on Thursday evening with a Drinks Reception held in the spectacular Pitts River Museum. Drinks will be followed by a black tie dinner in Hall presided over by our President, Lord Neuberger. After dinner, delegates are encouraged to mingle in the College Bar where drinks will be served until 2 am.
Our fantastic speakers will present their talks from 9.10am on Friday in the O’Rilley Lecture Theatre (located in the Sloane Robinson Conference Centre). Hopefully heads will not be too sore but I am sure that our speakers will soon bring delegates back to life.
There have been some minor changes to the line-up. Unfortunately Jonathan Seitler QC is no longer able to attend the Conference. However, we are privileged that his colleague in chambers, Joanne Wickes QC, will be presenting in his place giving a fascinating talk entitled “Dispute Resolution Clauses and Agreements – the future of property litigation?” In addition, Claer Barrett’s talk titled “The Current Market and The Implications for Property Litigators” will now be presented by her colleague at the Financial Times, wealth columnist Jason Butler, as Clear is sadly no longer able to attend. Jason is a fantastic public speaker and will provide delegates with a valuable insight into the market.
Once again, this year’s conference has sold out. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening.
